The real failure behind the Transformers movie

My friend Will, in forestry school for urban forestry, had this to say about the new Transformers movie:

"It's metal fighting metal. And no one's recycling. Tell me who recycles all that metal--no one. That's the real tragedy."



Hehe. Has anyone actually seen it and want to share on the nature of recycling? I bet Optimus Prime recycles. At least, the Optimus Prime of my youth.

    There were lines in the movie that led me to believe that the robots were partly made of radioactive material. I don't think you can recycle radioactive material in any traditional sense.

    They do reuse parts, to fix and to build new bots and upgrade, so it's not a total environmental mess. Except for the part where they're radioactive.

    Otherwise, the film was horrible. And bad.

    I really hope this isn't serious.

    Recycling isn't THAT important, and these things don't exist. They aren't made of metal, they're made of CG.

    I haven't seen the movie so I'm not sure on the material of the Transformers, but more importantly, I think what Will said was funny because it's not focusing on the utterly terrible reviews or supposedly racist sidekicks, but recycling. Recycling - one of the most uncontroversial things people engage in on a daily basis.

    Come on - can I get a little Friday love here for a recycling joke?
