Sex Ban in Kenya!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8025457.stm

I don't have time to write about this, as I have much homework to do, but it's an interesting article. What do you think about it?

  1. Hmm. It sort of feeds into the myth that men will/must/can't help but do anything for sex.

Also, is one week REALLY that long. I mean, come on!

  2. I haven't had time to go through the whole article (I also have a ton of homework), but at first I was horrified by your title...like sex was being made illegal. Other than that, I don't have any other comments right now, but I'll try to get back here later.

  3. this ban was instilled to force the government to make a decision concerning their constantly quarreling government coalition; and to hope to prevent the kind of previous bloodbath that occurred between different ethnic and political groups in Kenya, most part spurred by the political parties indecision and power struggles.
this is not the first time a "sex ban" has been implemented - there was a so-called sex ban in Colombia a number of years back, in which wives and girlfriends of gang leaders threatened to deprive them of sex unless and until the gangs stopped their violence. but i am not sure as to whether it worked.
